[ALL HAIR TYPES WELCOME]
/ˈdredˌläks/
similar: dreads, locks, locs
noun
1. sections of hair that are not combed or brushed, and over time, become tightly knotted and matted into individual, rope-like strands.
To me, dreadlocks are a form of art and self expression. To others, they may have cultural or spiritual significance. They may serve as a practical way to manage hair texture, a connection to our natural state of being or a rebelliousness to society’s standards. Despite the reason we’re drawn to them, they typically become a way of life and a part of our identity.
Each person’s dreadlock journey is unique. Their evolution can be beautiful… and sometimes humbling.
